Software Engineer. Noruega

We do so with a platform fuelled by state-of-the-art analytics and newly available data sources to enable smarter decisions for every actor wanting to understand the physical world.

We work with some of the largest property companies, retailers and brokers including OBOS, Eiendomsspar, Stor-Oslo Eiendom, Norgesgruppen, CBRE, Princess, Fretex, etc.

As our new software engineer, you will take a central role in within tech in our Oslo office collaborating among cross-functional team in Oslo, and a remote development team working to turn the Plaace vision into a great product. See what we’ve been working on recently. What you will do

• Work in a cross-functional product team together with a remote development team to develop the Plaace platform, from understanding user needs to shipping and maintaining elegant code

• Deliver great and consistent customer value by developing and maintaining software solutions and functionality

• Work as a backend, frontend or a full stack engineer, either as an expert, or contribute broadly on the whole product

• Own what you make and choose the tools and technologies you want to work with

• Take ownership of technical challenges and strongly influence how they are solved

• Use your experience to improve how we work, whether that is clean code, CI/CD, unit testing, code reviews, design system, agile principles or other topics you are passionate about

How we work

• OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) for company and team goals, and 2 week sprints according to agile principles

• Long term product vision and 3-12 months product roadmap that we iterate on based on learnings along the way

• Customer driven, with high frequency touch points through user tests, workshops and customer pilot programs

• Some of the technologies and tools we currently use: Typescript, React.js, Next.js and Node.js, Postgresql with PostGIS queries, Python (for data science mostly), Git and Github actions, AWS and GCP, Notion, Slack

We believe this is for you if…

• You have worked 2-5 years in multidisciplinary product teams

• You are passionate about making awesome clean and modifiable code

• You’re self-driven with a proven ability to structure work and produce high-quality deliverables

• You look for ways to learn new things and improve your skill set, and bring that back to the team and product

• You have experience with several aspects of the software development cycle, like prototyping ideas, architecture definition, design system, scoping, documentation, delivery at scale, maintenance, build processes, testing routines, etc

• You hold a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with strong academic results, alternatively compensated by highly relevant work experience

• You have experience with the Plaace technology stack, and experience with Python, Docker, PostgreSQL with PostGIS, and AWS/Google cloud is an advantage

• You like collaborating with team members from other fields of expertise and are motivated to make a kick ass product together
