Playworker. Dublin. Irlanda

We are seeking an experienced playworker to deliver and facilitate play opportunities and activities for children in an after-school setting.

Tasks:

Supervise children’s games and encourage the development of physical, social and language skills;

Provide play areas and prepare materials for a wide range of children’s activities; Encourage children’s independence, self- confidence and social interaction;

Organise and supervise children on excursions;

Organise and supervise children’s activities in accordance with Health and Safety regulations;

Deal appropriate with injuries and emergencies;

Put away equipment and clean premises after use;

Liaise with parents, carers and colleagues and keep appropriate records.

As our Playworker you will work to integrate play into the children’s daily learning activities.

You will organise, plan and take part in play and leisure activities for our children. You will also care for and supervise the children, making sure that they are safe and happy. Your role as a Playworker is to guide and support play, making sure that it is fun, creative and safe.

You will provide stimulating play opportunities to encourage children to learn, develop and express themselves. You will also have to set up and look after materials and resources, and make sure children are safely and comfortably equipped to do an activity.

Requirements for position of Playworker includes:

Previous experience as a play worker or in a similar role is essential.

Candidates, if they do not hold certificates (or equivalent) in child care and education must be willing to work

towards them.

Garda vetting and full CRB clearance will be required.

Salary per annum, Euro 34,000.

Full time permanent position.

39 hours per week.
