IT Operations Technician. Irlanda

The successful candidate, will be responsible for all aspects of the management and maintenance of the IT systems and operations within this busy dental practice.  You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of all IT and digital X-ray & Scanning systems, interfacing with all practice staff and the external IT providers in relation to all IT and related matters.  You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of such systems to ensure that there is minimal downtime or disruption for the Dentists and Dental Hygienists in the practice.

=> Tasks required by this job include:

•    Responsible for all IT support to a team of circa 12 users in the practice currently.

•    administers, monitors and supports the internal network, Coincidental Dental Practice software applications, the Intra-oral X-ray applications and CBCT Carestream Scanner Applications, the office IT applications ( MS 365 etc), the IT security systems, & any other dental or office applications implemented.

•    schedules and performs system maintenance tasks, such as loading user applications, programs and data, in co-operation with the external IT service providers.

•    analyses systems and makes recommendations to improve performance

•    carries out induction and ongoing training for all users in relation to all IT applications, following training plans agreed with the Practice Manager.

•    trouble-shoots all IT related issues arising for all users, with the goal of minimising disruption or down-time for the dental practitioners. Identifies problems, agrees & implements remedial action promptly with the external IT providers,  and assists with emergency maintenance if required;

•    performs server backup and recovery operations and restarts systems following outages

•    acts as the practice liaison between users, outside IT service providers, and other technical suppliers.

•    Liaison with the Practice Manager and nominated clinical personnel in relation to the IT & systems aspects of the overall Practice Quality Systems.

•    Maintenance of all required radiological data as required by the EPA.  

•    Weekly meetings with the Practice Manager on all IT/systems related issues.

•    Monthly meetings with the Practice Manager & Practice Owner on all relevant issues.

=> Requirements:

•    Work Experience as an IT Operations Technician in a Dental Practice.

•    Writing and speaking English and Portuguese.
