An exciting opportunity at the national Breast Center of Iceland!

We are looking for an ambitious breast radiologist to join our multidisciplinary breast care team. The department is the only one of its kind in the country and is therefore a leader for the service nationwide.

A family-friendly job where work arrangement is daytime. The employment ratio is 100% and the job is granted from September 1st, 2024, or according to further agreement. The immediate superior is the chief physician of the Breast Center.

The Landspitali Breast Center provides comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services as well as overseeing the implementation of breast screening in Iceland. Great emphasis is placed on multidisciplinary collaboration and a service-oriented approach where the activities are constantly evolving. The department provides multiple services and is at the forefront of mammography and Breast imaging nationwide. The facilities are good and the department is very well equipped.

Main tasks and responsibilities

•    General consultant work at the mammography and breast imaging department

•    MDT involvement

•    Teaching and guidance for healthcare professionals

•    Scientific research related to the specialty

•    Participation in quality and improvement work

Qualification requirements

•    Icelandic imaging specialist license by the time of the intended start date

•    Specialized in Radiology with broad background in breast imaging

•    Proficient in spoken and written English

•    Positive attitude and interpersonal skills

•    Motivated for living and working abroad

•    Broad experience in clinical diagnostic Imaging and screening reading

•    Experience with reading breast MRI is advantageous, but not necessary

•    Teaching and scientific experience

Salary according to the current collective agreement concluded by the Minister of Finance and the Economy and the Medical Association of Iceland.
